Benny Hinn
--------------

Benny Hinn is one of the most prolific voices in the so-called "Christian" media today.

* Hinn's "ministry" reportedly takes in over $100 million a year.

* Hinn has a $3.5 million dollar mansion.

* Hinn is a strong proponent of "revelation knowledge" -- new truths revealed to him by God directly -- that are not contained within Scripture.

* Hinn denies the deity of the Trinity. Has said that there are nine (9) of them; meaning; The Father has body soul and spirit; The Son has body, soul and spirit; and the Holy Spirit has body, soul and spirit.

* Hinn also teaches the "Jesus died spiritually" heresy. Meaning, that Jesus took on the nature of Satan and had to be born again. Jesus' shed blood was insufficient for the redemption of man; so He had to suffer at Satan's hands in Hell and be born again as the first man to conquer death.

"He [Jesus] who is righteous by choice said, 'The only way I can stop sin is by Me becoming it. I can't just stop it by letting it touch Me; I and it must become one.' Hear this! He who is the nature of God became the nature of Satan where He became sin!" (TBN, 12/1/90).

* Benny Hinn believes in the peccability of Christ, rather than the biblical teaching of the impeccability of Christ.

Pat Robertson- (700 Club)
-------------------------------

* A 'word of faith' teacher.

* A strong proponent of "revelation knowledge" -- new truths revealed to him by God directly -- that are not contained within Scripture.

- Robertson has exhibited many charismatic tendencies over the years. On his 700 Club television programs, he has on more than one occasion peered into the camera, and as if he could see into peoples' living rooms, describing people who are being healed at that very moment. On a program during the summer of 1976, Robertson was interviewing charismaniac Marvin Ford, who told about his experience of dying, going to heaven, and then returning! Ford claimed the necktie he was wearing that day retained the aroma of heaven. He kept it so that whenever he wanted to refresh his memory of that experience, he simply sniffed the tie. (Reported in Charismatic Chaos, pp. 27-28.)

- Robertson, like most charismatics, claims to receive additional revelation from God, and on a regular and consistent basis. In fact, he even claims that God speaks to him in an audible voice. He also apparently considers himself a prophet. But on several occasions, he has made prophecies which did not come to pass. For example, he predicted the Tribulation would take place in 1982, then again in 1984 (cf. Deut. 18:22). Robertson says God gave him a mission in July of 1977, not to be a religious leader, but to be an educator who would influence the very center of our culture -- "from God's perspective." He also claimed that God chose him "to usher in the coming of My Son."

- Robertson also has bought into the "name it and claim it"/"Word-Faith" movement, which sees faith as an immutable, impersonal "law" that, like gravity or the laws of thermodynamics, rules the universe -- a principle that works regardless of who is exercising it, or for what purpose it is exercised. When asked if the laws of the Kingdom work, even for non-Christians, Robertson wrote: "Yes. These are not just Christian and Jewish ... The laws of God work for anybody who will follow them. The principles of the Kingdom apply to all of creation." (Emphasis added.) Applied to the "law" of faith, that reasoning means all who claim a blessing without doubting can have whatever they claim -- whether they are Christians or not! (Pat Robertson, Answers to 200 of Life's Most Probing Questions [Nashville: Nelson, 1984], p. 271.)

Going one step further than your average Word-Faith charismatic, Robertson also said that, "Spirit controls matter ... The mind is the ultimate conduit of the spirit. In other words, when you confess blessing, favor, victory, and success, those things will come to you." Further, those who remain ill or poverty-stricken demonstrate they have "failed to grasp the points we have been making" or are "not living according to the major principles," which Robertson refers to as "laws of prosperity." Robertson teaches that just as surely as scientific laws, these spiritual laws govern good or ill-fortune. God's name is "like a blank check ... Use the water in the reservoir. Remember that faith is the title deed to that pool of power. It is all ours if we know the rules of miracles."

Robertson not only embraces this "mind over matter" philosophy of Transcendentalism, but also appears to deny the reality of matter altogether: "Matter is merely a form of energy. The great paradox is that what we perceive as real and tangible is actually an illusion. The reality is energy." All this is in keeping with the emerging worldview of what has been called "the new paganism." (Reported in Made in America, pp. 123-126.) (Emphasis added.) [Robertson seems to have a strange affinity to Eastern mystical religions. In his book, Beyond Reason (p. 108), Robertson makes this metaphysical statement: "The great paradox is that what we perceive as real and tangible is actually an illusion." This is the Eastern worldview, specifically Hinduism. Hindus believe in non-reality. They call it "maya." To them, everything is an illusion.]

- Robertson was a speaker at a March 1995 "signs and wonders" conference hosted by an Assemblies of God seminary. More than 30 workshops will addressed such issues as healing, spiritual warfare, intercession, prayer, and worship. Other speakers included Marilyn Hickey . On a 10/27/94 700 Club show, Robertson even praised Rodney Howard-Browne's "holy laughter" revivals: "… what this says to me is that revival is taking place in the world in a mass wave … and we look to the coming of the Lord. I think this is a very encouraging sign in the middle of all this trouble and all these wars and all this confusion. God is saying 'I'm on the throne and I'm going to touch multiplied millions.' It's wonderful. I applaud it." Robertson also promoted a 3/95 CBN conference titled "SIGNS AND WONDERS—With Rodney Howard Browne—The Fire of the Holy Spirit." CBN launched a global evangelism project (WorldReach) in 1995 with a week of tent "revival" services on the CBN campus. Oral Roberts, James Robison, Robert Schuller, Benny Hinn and Robertson took turns preaching.

- Although claiming to be premillennial in his eschatological beliefs, and not expecting some reconstructed utopia on earth, Robertson is very much Reconstructionist/Dominion Theology in practice. [Reconstructionism is dedicated to a social gospel/activism agenda that proposes to impose Biblical standards (e.g., Old Testament law) on unbelieving peoples and institutions, so that Christ is then able to return and take-over the Kingdom.] Robertson has deep Reconstructionist political ties, as well as makes available his 700 Club cable television program to Reconstructionist leaders Rousas Rushdoony and Gary North.

Arnold Murray- (Shepherd's Chapel)
--------------
* Does not believe in the Christian doctrine of the Trinity (one God existing eternally in three Persons).

* Referring to Christ, Murray says, "His spirit is holy and he is the Holy Spirit." (Shepherd's Chapel Question and Answers period, aired 54-91). Hence, Murray is guilty of teaching the heresy of modalism, which states that Jesus is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (one Person in three roles, or modes).

* Murray believes that men were once gods who existed prior to living on the earth. This is Gen. 1:26 taken way out of context. "Our" and "Us" Is understood to mean the Persons of the Trinity.

* Murray says,(speaking of Gen. 1:26) "he spoke to the Elohim, meaning God and his children, let us make that man in our image, which is to say make it look in the likeness that we are. Do you appear as your soul appeared in the world that was?"-I told you, that God said "in Our image, Our likeness', the Elohim were standing there, they were from before." (Tape #146) We always were with Him [God] until you were born into this earth.. (Kenites, Tape #436) Similar to the cultic teaching of the Mormons and Oneness Pentecostals.

* Mr. Murray teaches Anglo-Israelism which believes that Anglo-Saxons are the chosen race, and America and Great Britain are the lost tribes of the children of Israel. Murray claims that the northern ten tribes of Israel are "the same tribes that later went north and populated Europe and North America". (The Shepherd's Chapel newsletter #148, 2-91) According to the theology of Anglo-Israelism, other races are inferior to whites, and usually the blacks and Jewish race are particularly stigmatized. Murray, on the other hand, says that he respects blacks and other races.

* However, he believes these races were the 'Adam' created on the sixth day of creation in Genesis 1, while the Anglo-Saxons were 'another Adam' created on the eighth day of creation based on his (distorted)interpretation of Genesis 2. Hence, there is a definite distinction between whites and non-whites. Arnold Murray also promotes the literature of other Anglo-Israelism teachers. The Shepherd's Chapel Book List, for instance, offers materials by E. Raymond Capt and J. H. Allen. The Anglo-Israelism theory has been refuted, and virtually no reputable scholar or historian today would promote it.

* Another central teaching of Arnold Murray is the "serpent seed doctrine." According to Murray, Eve had sex with the Serpent in the Garden of Eden. Murray claims the Serpent sexually seduced Eve who then became pregnant with Cain; the devil's literal offspring. Murray asserts that the offspring of Cain are called the "Kenites". He also states that the Kenites are not a race, "but a hybrid". (Genesis 1:1-6:22, tape #146)

* Most of Arnold Murray's heretical teaching comes from a subtle misinterpreting of Scripture. He commonly manipulates the original Greek and Hebrew languages, abuses the use of symbols and numerics, interprets Scripture out of context, and makes use of selective citations. BY emphasizing to his audience that he has the correct, almost "secret" meaning of the text that most scholars have ignored or overlooked, Murray can get a passage of Scripture to mean almost anything he desires it to. He claims that the majority of Christians have been wrong from the beginning regarding their understanding of Scripture. (Parable of the Fig Tree, tape #445)

* Mr. Murray commonly uses King James English instead of examining the original languages whenever the English translation supports his view-but when it contradicts his view, he will attempt to support his view by means of the original languages. For instance, he uses the Old English word "replenish" to mean "repopulate" in Genesis 1:28 in order to support the widely disreputed "gap theory". (e.g., tape #146) This theory alleges that there was an earth age of millions of years between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. Murray states that Adam repopulated the earth. (e.g., tape #146) However, the Hebrew word for "replenish" is "malah" which, in all 306 times it occurs in Scripture, simply means "to fill", not "refill". The Oxford English Dictionary demonstrates that replenish simply meant "fill" from the 13th to the 17th century when the King James Version was translated. This is why Murray does not refer to the Hebrew of this passage. This is just one of many examples of how Murray deliberately deceives his followers by withholding the truth from them.

* Mr. Murray also teaches the doctrine of
annihilationism. This view teaches that all unbelievers will not be tormented eternally in hell, but will completely disappear. (If that's the case, why be saved? Why should a person worry about going to hell, if they won't be there long?)

Christ, on the other hand, asserts that just like the righteous will have eternal life, so shall the unrighteous have eternal punishment (Matt. 25:41,46). Furthermore, this punishment is a conscious punishment according to Revelation 14:9-11 (cL Rev.20:10).

* According to Murray, Christians who believe in the rapture are cultic, and do not have God's seal upon them. They will be deceived by Satan during the end times.

* Murray's statement, however, is fallacious. Christianity has always believed in a literal rapture by which the saints would be transformed and removed from this earth to meet Christ in the air.

Jesse Duplantis
-------------------

* He is known as the ragin cagun coming from Louisiana, and he is a very entertaining and funny man. But when it comes to sound Bible teaching, he is even funnier.

* A 'word of faith' teacher.

* A strong proponent of "revelation knowledge" -- new truths revealed to him by God directly -- that are not contained within Scripture.

* His reason for flying to every meeting in his multi-million dollar jet, is to “protect the anointing.” (That sounds like what Jesus would do.)

PROSPERITY TEACHING

* He begins by relating the account of Jesus reading from Luke 4:18 and from this text he makes the following comments (taken from The Nov. 1997 Voice of the Covenant magazine, p.5) “The very first thing on Jesus` agenda was to get rid of poverty! Would you like to know why some people, including ministries, never get out of poverty? Its not because they aren’t smart. Its not because they don’t have windows of opportunity. Its because they’re not anointed. If you’re not anointed, poverty will follow you all the days of your life. His first objective was to get rid of poverty.” Obviously, He consider poverty a worse problem than blind eyes or salvation. I guess the apostles did not know yet what Duplantis and the rest of his friends know today.

* Duplantis has a lot to say about money. Many of his preaching is stories are about money, his money.

* Jesse also boasts, “I can honestly say that the Lord has done everything I have prayed for ” (p.44 Heaven Close Encounters of the God kind). One hundred percent answered prayers is quite a feat since there is not one person born beside Jesus that could says this. but nothing stops Jesse from saying what he wants.

“You are God’s child why can't you have God’s stuff.” He justifies it by saying “many people don't like it but that’s what you said.” (12/121/99) As God is reduced to Duplantis’ servant, like his discipler can ask for anything. And why not, as a Copeland disciple, Copeland states “The powerful force of the spiritual world that creates the circumstances around us is controlled by the words of the mouth” (The Laws of Prosperity, Kenneth Copeland, Ft. Worth: Kenneth Copeland Publications, 1974).

GIVING

* His exegesis on mark 4, this is the most important chapter in the Bible, “Now the Lord told us to go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature, didn't He? It costs billions of dollars to do that, between the satellite communication hookup and everything! Well, how come we haven't done it yet? Because we've lost verse 4, we've lost verse 5, we've lost verse 7. Every once in a while we get blessed on verse 8. But just think if you got blessed 30, 60 or 100 fold on verse 4; 30, 60 or 100 fold on verse 5; 30, 60 or 100 fold on verse 7… every time you give God $50, He gives you $5000. Every time you give Him $100, He gives you $10,000. Every time you give Him $1000, He gives you $100,000. Every time you give him $100,000, $10 million. Before you know it, that building is yours, because they will sell it for the right price. You pick the denomination, God picks the multiplication.” …So it's up to you what you give. That sounds biblical, right?

STRANGE CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD

* When Duplantis was a guest on Benny Hinn’s program in early 2,000, he got into quite a discussion. “I'm going to say something that may sound controversial. Not long ago I was in prayer in my own study, and I know the Lord just like you know the Lord. And man I went in there and started off my day with the lord and said 'Lord Lord how you doing today. It’s going to be a great day. And I noticed the lord wasn't acting right, …cause I know God, you know when your child is not felling good, right. Hinn, right! You know when something, you may not know what it is but he wasn't acting right for lack of a better term. I know God I know him and I know the fulness of his presence , and I know him. And I said something’ wrong. And this is what I'm saying, it wasn't with me. And then it hit me, I said Lord you had a bad day? Now watch this (whenever faith teacher says this you need to pay careful attention, here it comes) I said and he said “Yea my children have been disobeying me” then it dawned on me. I said somebody hurt you today, I said lord I don't ever want to hurt you anymore so lord I’m going to cancel all my appointments and all this stuff that we call ministry and I'm gonna sit here and I don’t know how to say this God for a lack of better term, till you fell better. Cause so many people hurt him that day… Lord I said I'm just going to bless you I'm gonna praise you I'm gonna just call your name. And it dawned on me and the Lord went “Thank you Jesse.” (Interview-This is Your day, B. Hinn Feb. 2,000)

We don't search God's heart, He searches our heart! I can only wonder who Duplantis is having a conversation with if this is how it works. It was not God-- at least according the HOLY BIBLE.

STRANGE QUOTES FROM HIS BOOK REGARDING HIS ALLEDGED TRIP TO HEAVEN

He has gone to heaven and has quite a tale to tell. Unlike the apostle Paul who kept quiet for 14 years Jesse stays quiet for 9 years after the Lord tells him to tell everyone.

“I saw new lives of little babies singing and flying around God's Throne. It seemed to me that babies just came out of the breath of God. They looked like they were wearing nightgowns. They flew into the presence of Jehovah. I realized they were new souls who came from the thoughts of God. God thinks kids. Now I know why those newborn babies are so precious. Babies are gifts given to us directly from the Throne of God. I heard them saying to God, "Can I be a spirit? Would you send me to the earth so I can be a spirit? I want to be a redeemed person. Can I be a spirit?" And while I watched, I heard that mighty sound of God's power, Whooosh! I saw these babies leave the Throne by the power of God." (Heaven Close encounters of the God Kind p.119).

From his trip to heaven he says heaven is a planet. And why not, being a Copeland disciple Copeland says “You don't think Earth was first, do you? Huh? Well, you don't think that God made man in His image then made Earth in some other image. There's not anything under this whole sun that's new. Are you hearing what I’m saying, This is all a copy. It's a copy of home. It's a copy of the mother planet.”(Following the faith of Abraham #01-3001 Audio tape side 1) So God lives on a planet, just like earth.

Duplantis is “still dressed in my regular clothes, jeans and a shirt, but I noticed that many people coming from those vehicles were wearing beautiful, glorious robes” He notices that “ some leaves off those trees, put the leaves up to their faces and breathed in, smelling them.“Then I saw other people who didn't have on robes; they were wearing gowns. They started walking toward the city, but they seemed to get weak.” He asked the angel, “What's happening?” “He said, “Some of them have not lived the life they should. They believe in God and love Jesus, but they didn't live to their fullest potential.” Then I asked, “Will they still be able to go before God's Throne?” “Yes, God is merciful to them,” he said. “But they have to be prepared to stand in the presence of the Almighty.”(p.72)
People are weak and will have to work to make themselves ready to stand in the presence of God in heaven! Was not Christ’s perfect work sufficient for us to be changed and be able to come into the presence of God with no guilt? The Bible says that when we see Him, we shall be like Him.

* He later meets Abraham, Abraham walked over to us. He gave the goblet to me and said, “Hey, Jesse! Drink this.” “Then he told the angel, “Take him. He must stand before the Most High God.” There was a fragrance in the air, so I asked the angel, “What's that smell?” He said, “It's the fragrance of God. He's in everything here.” I believe he meant the fragrance was all through heaven”(p.81) Now we have goblets to drink from and a God fragrance. The only fragrance the Bible mentions is “the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God” (Rev 8:4)

Ever wonder what the Book of Life would be like? Here Jesses describes it for you, “Right inside the city I saw the Book of Life. It is huge, about five feet five inches vertically and one and one-half inches thick. It looked like it is bound in a gold lame cloth. It has an inscription in it, etched in deeply” (p.87)

Duplantis decribes Jesus as a “ shaft of light. He was so glorious! He turned toward me, and I fell at His feet. I said, reverently, “Oh, God!” He said, “I'm here.” As I was kneeling down, I noticed Jesus' feet looked like burnished brass. I thought there would be scars in His hands and feet. But it wasn't like He had been cut and scarred. I could see the holes in His feet. They were so big - about the size of a nickel (Heaven Close encounters of the God kind p.88).

Duplantis comments “Jesus was taller than I thought He would be. I would guess Him to be from five feet eleven inches to six feet one inch. I thought at first His hair was white; but when He turned His head, I caught a glance and saw that it was light brown. When He looked at me, the glory of God was emanating from Him.I said, “Jesus!” He said simply, “Do you like this place?” I said, “Yes, Sir”(ibid. p.89).

Why are You doing this?” “I want you to go back and tell My people I'm coming.” “But they won't believe me,” I said.” They didn't believe it for centuries, but I came, and I am coming again.” Then He put His hand on my shoulder. I'll never forget it. He looked at me and said, “There are many things you shall see and learn here, but I have brought you here so that you will go tell My people I'm coming.”I said, “They know that.” “No, they don't know that. I brought you here so that you would go tell them I'm coming. Do you hear Me? I'm coming. Go tell them” (ibid. p.90).

Jesus put His arm around me as He watched a man walking toward us who was wearing a crown. Then He said to me, “I want you to meet another king.” “I recognized him as the man that I had seen earlier. He had reddish hair and a red beard. I knew immediately it was David. As he approached us, he spoke to Jesus, “To the great King of kings I bow” Jesus said, “Jesse, I want you to meet the king of Israel.” The Lord said, “Take Jesse to his home. Show him what I have prepared for him. Then bring him to My Throne. I must go. My Father wants Me.” Then He turned and walked off.” I looked at the man Jesus had introduced and said, “Hello.” I didn't know what else to say. “Your name is David, isn't it?” (ibid. p.93)

“Then he took me to my house. When I walked up, I looked at the grounds. There was a water fountain in the front yard and manicured grass.” “Everything was decorated and the furniture was just the kind I liked.”
Jesse’s view is that we get what we want on earth and in heaven. Jesus went to prepare a place for us just the way we like it
As Jesse near the throne hears a “ massive sound, Whoosh!” ...“Then I saw God's finger barely move and when it moved, an angel that was flying near Him was thrown up against a wall. Bam! It didn't hurt the angel, but I felt if God just barely moved, a universe could be annihilated (ibid. p.115)
Jesse sees Jesus as He comes out of the glory of the Father and begins to preach to the assembled crowds “He was a preacher full of victory, shouting and hollering!” and Jesus is a preachin’ machine.
(And to whom is Jesus preaching too in heaven? Everyone in heaven is supposed to be saved!)

Here is one of the more serious problems “I don't know how long I was there, but I felt that I couldn't stand it much longer. That's why I think that I was there in the flesh - that my body was physically there” (ibid. p.119). Paul said in the third person about himself he didn’t know whether he was in the body or not, he couldn’t explain it. But Jesse can.
If Duplantis was there in his flesh this also contradicts the word of God (The Bible) that says flesh and blood cannot enter the kingdom, he is fallen man not transformed to go to heaven in the body, but Jesse enters with no problem.

** Obviously Jesse has a distorted view of almost everything. What more can be added to prove what a false teacher this man is?
