Jeff's Personal History
Hello my name is Jeff Johnson and I am grateful that you have shown interest in our ministry. I hope our web-site is useful to you. We are an apologetic ministry that confronts the culture with the truth of the gospel.

JEFF'S BRIEF PERSONAL HISTORY:

Growing up in South Carolina, my parents were not Christians, but I had godly grandparents who took me to church at an early age. The things I learned stuck with me up into my teenage years.

as a young teenager, I became interested in the concept of God, and spiritual things in general. I began to read my Bible that had been given to me by my grandparents, but it made no sense to me. Over the next few years, our family moved to several different places. In 1992, my older brother became a Christian. He then began to witness to mom, dad and I about our salvation. After much witnessing, mom and dad went to church and both got saved. Then there was me. My mom, dad, and my brother were now witnessing and praying for me to be saved. I began attending church and even carrying my Bible to Bible study on Saturdays. The Lord was drawing me closer and closer to the truth.

I was saved on Wednesday night, June 30, 1993 at King's Way Baptist Church in Archdale, N.C. (Pastor Chester Pope). I was later baptized in water on Saturday, September 24, 1994. One of the most trying times of my life happened on January 4, 1995 when my father, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord. As a young Christian, I could not understand why the Lord would take my father at a time when I needed him the most. I became bitter at first, but realized that God is sovereign in all that He does. With much help and encouragement from my church family, God began to heal the wounds that death had inflicted to our family.

In Feburary of 1995, Vickie and I met and began dating. In late 1995, I felt the call to teach on my life. I bagan to teach the teenage Sunday school class at King's Way Baptist Church. After several months, I began to consult my pastor about the call to preach on my life. I was sure, yet unsure as to why God would want me to preach His word. Through much pastoral counseling my pastor said "if God's in it He will bless it." On Sunday night March 17, 1996, I stood behind the pulpit of King's Way Baptist Church and preached my first sermon. On October 5, 1996 Vickie and I were married. Later, in 1997, the Lord led my wife Vickie and I to Faith Baptist Church in Archdale, N.C (Pastor Thurman Smith).

In 2003, the Lord led me to start "Raise the Standard Youth Ministries", which is an apologetic youth outreach ministry of Faith Baptist Church. (You can go to our "What We Believe" page to learn more.) In 2004, I became the Associate Pastor of Faith Baptist Church.

God has opened many doors for our ministry to proclaim the life changing message of Jesus Christ. I am currently an S.T.B candidate, with future plans to obtain my M.Th. ,and Th.D.

I love God's Word, and seeing the lost saved. I believe it will be evident to you if you are able to attend one of our meetings.

In His Service,

Jeff Johnson
