What is Process Theology? ![]() Process Theology is primarily based on the philosophy that the only absolute which exists in the world is change. Therefore God too, is constantly changing. This is certainly UNBIBLICAL and the Holy Scriptures prove it. One of the attributes of God is His Immutability. (The quality of being unchanging) Hebrews 6:17- "Wherein God, willing more abundantly to show unto the heirs of promise the immutability (unchanging) of His counsel confirmed it by an oath:" Hebrews 13:8- "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and for ever." James 1:17- "Every good and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness (changing or inconsistency), neither shadow of turning." God's nature never changes by development or degeneration as ours does. The qualities of God's nature are constant and eternal. God is unchanging in His Purpose, in His Word, and in His Attributes. (1) In His Purpose. God will complete what He has planned to do. Also, He will never change His plan. In the Bible when it seems that God has changed His mind, His nature and purpose always remain the same. It is man who changes in his attitudes and actions. God's responses to changeable people, whether in His acts of judgment or of mercy, always conform to His unchanging holiness and justice and follow a righteous course. (2) In His Word. God does not and cannot lie (Num. 23:19; Titus 1:2). This truth provides the basis for our faith in Him, foe His unchanging promises give us something to believe (Heb. 10:23). (3) In His Attributes. The qualities of His unchanging nature are always the same. Because of this, God never changes. When God the Son (Jesus) assumed a created human nature, there was no change in His uncreated divine nature. * Process Theology does not consider the Bible to be inspired or to be our final authority. * Process Theology also denies the Deity of Jesus Christ. ![]() |
