What does the Bible say about ghosts/ hauntings? ![]() Is there ghosts? The answer depends on what is meant by the term "ghosts." If the term means "spirit beings", then the answer is "yes." If the term means "spirits of people who have died", the answer is "no." There are spirit beings both good and evil. We call these angels. Holy angels and fallen angels. The Bible dismisses the idea that the spirits of dead people can remain on earth and "haunt" the living. Hebrews 9:27- "It is appointed unto man once to die, and after this the judgment." At death, a person goes to their eternal home. No staying on earth, no reincarnation, no coming back to torment someone. Nothing. What is seen on television is demonism or demonic activity. Demons masqurade as "angels of light" meaning something good. Hauntings, poltergeists (from two German words: "polter"- to make noise and "geist"- ghost or spirit), ghouls, ghosts, haunted houses, horror movies, etc. are all works of demonic activity. What about instances where ghosts act in positive ways? (They help people, they rescue people, etc.) What about psychics who claim to summon the deceased and gain information from them? REMEMBER, is is the goal of demons to deceive and destroy. Demons always draw people from God and the truth; they never draw a person closer to God and the truth. ![]() |
